The new building for Clinical Documentation and Consultation under the Center of Excellence Grant awarded to the Ayurvedic Trust by the Department of AYUSH was formally inaugurated by Dr. S.K. Sharma, Hon'ble Advisor to the Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi on 11th July, 2010 at 10 am. Dr. G. Bhaktavatsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital, Coimbatore was the Guest of Honor.

In the function that followed, Dr. K.G. Raveendran, Medical Director of AVP Group delivered the Welcome Address. Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Director of Research, The Ayurvedic Trust presented an overview of the Center of Excellence Research Hospital that was being set up with emphasis on good practices in Clinical Care and Research. The Research Hospital, he explained would focus on Rheumatology. There would be facilities for clinical documentation, clinical laboratory, drug laboratory, preparation of customized medicinal recipes, dietetics, panchakarma and clinical trials. Dr. G. Bhaktavatsalam delivered his felicitation address in which he appreciated the initiatives being taken at the Ayurvedic Trust for the promotion of Ayurveda. Dr. S.K. Sharma launched the website of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology in Ayurveda, the first clinical specialty journal in the field of Ayurveda. He also launched the website of DHARA - Digital Helpline for Ayurveda Research Abstracts and Articles, the first indexing service and database exclusively devoted to research journals in the field of Ayurveda. The documentation software for Ayurvedic physicians to be freely distributed in the Ayurvedic community to promote evidence based practice was also released by Dr. S.K. Sharma. Dr. S.K. Sharma appreciated the unique contributions made by the AVP Group for the promotion of Ayurveda in India and abroad.

Mr. Ramasubramanya Raja, President of Finance, AVP Group delivered the Vote of Thanks and Sri. P.R. Krishna Kumar summed up the entire session before concluding the function.
