The 7th Annual Day of AVTAR, the research wing of The Ayurvedic Trust was organized on 10th July 2010 at the Ayurvedic Trust Campus, Coimbatore. The main event of the Annual Day Program was a Workshop to develop Clinical Practice Guidelines for Osteoarthritis.

Dr. S.K. Sharma, Hon'ble Advisor, Department of AYUSH, Government of India, was the Chairman of the session. Dr. U. Indulal, Deputy Director, The Ayurvedic Trust moderated the session. The session began with the introductory remarks by the Chairman of the Session, Dr. S.K. Sharma. Thereafter, Dr. Indulal spoke on the topic "What an Ayurvedic Physician should know about Osteoarthritis". This was followed by the talk by Dr. Reshmi, Dept. of Dravyaguna at Ayurvedic Trust, on Epidemiological analysis of osteoarthritis cases treated at the Ayurvedic Trust. Dr. SBR Kasinath, Asst. Chief Research Officer at AVTAR made a presentation on the "Modern assessment of Osteoarthritis - A flow chart". Dr. Ram Manohar, Director of AVTAR elaborated the Clinical Practice Guideline for "Ayurvedic assessment and management of Sandhi Vata".

The meeting concluded after Dr. S.K. Sharma summarized the gist of the papers that were presented. At the end, a lively discussion ensued on the topic. The meeting was dispersed after the National Anthem.
