The Department of Nyaya, Government Sanskrit College, Thiruvananthapuram conducted a two day National Seminar on "Contribution of Nyaya Vaiseshika Philosophy to Ayurveda" on 25th and 26th of August 2011 under the auspices of the University Grants Commission in collaboration with Govt. Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr. J. Prasad, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady inaugurated the Seminar. The Key Note Address was delivered by Dr. C.R. Agnivesh, Principal, Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College, Kothamangalam.

The program was conducted at the Auditorium of the Government Sanskrit College in Thiruvananthapuram.

Many eminent speakers and scholars presented papers during the seminar and the topics covered were "Panchabhutasiddhanta and Tridoshasiddhanta", "Importance of Samanya and Visesha", "Cause and Effect Theory", "Means of Knowledge", "Categories in Nyaya Vaiseshika and Caraka Samhita", Origin and Development of Nyaya Vaiseshika and Ayurveda.

Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Director of Research, The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy chaired a session on the topic "Means of Knowledge" and also gave a lecture on "Nyaya, Vaiseshika and Ayurveda".
