The Clinical wing of The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy was started in the year 1957 and is now known as The Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam & Research Institute (AVC). This Chikitsalayam situated in the heart of Coimbatore City, in Tamilnadu, South India is at present a 120-bed ayurveda hospital. AVC offers classical Ayurvedic treatments for a wide range ailment. 

This Chikitsalayam is one of the first Ayurvedic hospitals to become ISO 9001: 2000 certified for its compliance with international quality standards.

In its untiring pursuits to establish global scientific footing for Ayurveda, the challenging task of clinical documentation was commenced here in the year 2003 thought the RUDRA Programme which is now being supported by AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The first ever-clinical research project to scientifically evaluate Ayurveda outside the US, funded by the National Institutes of Health, USA was conducted in this hospital. 


FACILITIES:

In-Patient Department :

The hospital has different categories of accommodation including executive cottage, deluxe cottages, deluxe suites, deluxe rooms and regular rooms. Preferred accommodation should be booked in advance to ensure availability.

The hospital provides classical Panchakarma and traditional Kerala Treatments based on the assessment by the Physician.
Soon after admission, the patient will undergo a detailed clinical documentation process. This will be followed by the consultation of the treating physician make periodic visits during the patients’ stay in the hospital. Assistant physicians will visit and monitor every patient twice a day.
Treatment will be scheduled according to the availability of therapists and treatment solt. This process is computerized and patients are expected to co-operate with this system.
A normal course of treatment at our hospital would be between 35-40 days. Treatment are not administered during fever, cold, menstrual period and other conditions deemed unsuitable by the physician.
The physicians will inform the rules and regulations, which are to be followed by the patients for getting maximum benefit from the treatment. Patients are requested to adhere to these instructions.
The diet is decided by the physician and related instructions are carried out by a qualified dietitian. The recommended food will be delivered at appropriate time to the room.
The hospital has the arrangements for emergency allopathy medical care. Laundry facility is available in the campus. Patients are suggested to carry just adequate number of comfortable of treatment.

Out patient Department:

The OP Department here is fully computerised and has advanced booking and spot registration facility. Three outpatient clinics attended by the medical directors and the senior medical officer functions from 8 to 8 everyday. On an average 100 patients visit the OP clinic everyday. There are facilities for Ayurvedic Therapies and a well-stocked Ayurveda pharmacy attached to the outpatient department.
